Reviews

I know it's just me, but I haven't ever quite understood the popularity of Chekhov. He was interesting, alright, but somewhat lackluster, and anemic, even.If you put Chekhov together with Georg Büchner, however, something no one has ever tried before, you get explosives. You get the fireworks, to put it mildly. An that's what this trilogy is all about - a true masterpiece, if there ever was one.The Coast of Utopia Trilogy is the best thing having to do with philosophy or political history that I have read in a long time, probably ever. I recommend it to everyone with even the faintest interest in politics, history, or literature. It's almost like Dostoevsky with real characters.
