I was leery this would be a Tom Hanks love-in with minimal depth and insight. It is much better than that.In part one Edwards traces Hanks from birth to stardom. He uses a lot of quotesfrom others about Hanks and from Hanks over the years. I didn't realize his childhood was so challenging.Part two is the ten commandments of Tom Hanks, a way of packing more anecdotes and his core beliefs.Part three is a breakdown of each Hanks movie. Not only is this not a love letter, he is unusually critical of a numberof really good Hanks movies. Surprised me, but in a good way.If you want to know more about why you like Hanks so much, it's here.
